Summary:
|
In October, the district contracted to have an overall analysis of our network. As a result, we have learned that the core network switch is operating at 99% and wireless access points throughout the district would perform better if they were placed more favorably. Staff recommends the purchase of 55 switches district-wide, and up to 300 wireless access points. The design and configuration of the network will be provided by Portola Systems, Inc., with financing by Cisco Capitol over five years.
Staff has developed an upgrade plan and timeline for implementation upon approval of this expenditure.
