Summary:
|
California school districts are required by the Education Code to adopt their budgets for the coming year by June 30. The County Superintendent will then examine the budgets and give notice of approval or disapproval by August 15. Education Code Sections 42127 and 52062 require the Governing Board of each school district to hold a public hearing on the annual Budget of the school district at a separate meeting prior to Budget adoption. In anticipation of the public hearing and budget adoption in June, Associate Superintendent for Business Service Mike Mathiesen will present a preliminary overview of items that are being considered for the 2020-2021 District budget, including significant changes from the 2019-2020 budget and assumptions for the multi-year projection. Included here are the major changes to the 2020-2021 budget and assumptions used in developing the budget. The public hearing on June 8th will include the complete financial impact of the 2020-2021 district budget. |
