California school districts are required by the Education Code to
adopt their budgets for the coming year by June 30. Education Code
Sections 42127 and 52062 require the Governing Board of each
school district to hold a public hearing on the annual Budget of the
school district at a separate meeting prior to Budget adoption. The
2025-2026 MVLA Budget is being brought for a first reading and
Public Hearing to give the public the opportunity to provide input on
the budget for the coming year and will return for adoption on June
16, 2025.
Budgets for all funds of the District are presented for review.
Included in this document are our guidelines and assumptions for the 2025-2026 school year as well as 2026-2027 and 2027-2028.
This budget represents the revenue and expenditure plan for fiscal
year 2025-2026. It shows that the District will be able to meet all of
its obligations for the next three years, maintaining both the state required minimum 3% Reserve for Economic Uncertainty and a
positive General Fund balance beyond dollars committed to
categorically restricted programs.
