Mountain View Los Altos High School District is requesting Change Order #13D with Best Electrical be ratified: - Provide and install 6 emergency lighting/power control modules including devices, outlets, and circuitry, (1) dimming switch and occupancy wall sensor at the second floor of the Student Services building. These items were not included in the original plans. - Relocate (18) alarm contacts for double doors at the Student Services building. Originally the alarm device (magnet) was intended to be installed in the middle of the mullion (vertical bar in the middle of double doors) however, these devices were moved to the top of the door frame as the mullion is not fit to receive the alarm contacts. Therefore, additional cabling is required to connect the alarm devices to the door locks and card readers. - Due to the extended construction schedule, the Electrical Contractor had to provide additional supervision (on site staff) for a longer period of time (16 weeks) than the original bid schedule. - Per code, additional fire sprinkler heads were added in the building to provide adequate coverage, as a result, Contractor shall provide and install (6) fire alarm modules, (3 in each fire riser room) along with associated raceways and cabling to connect those areas to the building fire alarm. This was unforeseen. - Modify light fixture flange (7) to allow for proper mounting onto the soffits, the screws would need to be flush with the fixture, hence the attachments were altered. - Extend the call station cabling (area of refuge 2-way communication system) from the New Classroom (700-800 Wing) to the new Student Services Building per the response in Request For Information# 489, and demolish the temporary 2-way communication system in the Library. - Modify (3) wall and floor outlets to accommodate the furniture power whips, and install two 120V circuits from the electrical panel to the floor box at open office area. - Credit (deductive PCO) for remaining contract allowance, category D2, per District request.
