School districts throughout the nation are in the midst of planning for the reopening of school in the Fall of 2020. School districts continue to analyze the science as we work with our local agencies in anticipation of August. Universities, colleges, community colleges, and K-12 systems have proposed multiple reopening plans ranging from full distance learning, distance learning with some modified physical presence, to complete return with health mitigations. These proposals continue to evolve.
MVLA staff has been working on plans for multiple scenarios for the reopening in the Fall. Staff has been involved in creating plans with urgent needs, summer training, and ongoing staff support. This item will include a brief summary of work to date as we continue to monitor and evaluate the public health restrictions and recommendations. At this time, no new concrete guidance from the State Department of Education or Santa Clara County Public Health on the modality of instructional delivery has been given for the reopening.
