Mountain View Los Altos High School District is requesting Change Order #4D with Smith & Sons Electric be ratified:
- Labor and materials per District request to install electrical pipe and previously purchased added floor boxes. This is a result of Freestyle Academy staff requesting more floor and wall outlets to provide adequate coverage for hard-wire internet cable and power cables to all computers, laptops, and devices. This portion of the work is just for the infrastructure. The wiring, additional wall plugs, and the added electrical panel are in a separate PCO. This work was separated to get the infrastructure in prior to pouring the concrete floor slab and keep the project on schedule.
- Labor and materials per District request to purchase and install the added data and power, wall plugs, added electrical panel and associated wiring for power and data associated with the floor box, wall plugs and electrical panel. This is the portion of the work which includes the wiring, and the additional wall plugs and the added electrical panel. The wiring goes to all floor and wall outlets and the electrical panel. The added work almost triples the power requirements. This work will provide full functionality to the entire system.
- Provide labor and material per District request to furnish and install an additional (6) receptacles in the electrical rooms to fulfill power requirements for the requested IDF cabinets in the three new buildings. This work came about due to a District IT requirement and request for a different IDF rack which requires two dedicated power outlets per rack.
- Furnish an additional AV floor box unaccounted for on RFP 006.1 in building A per District request. There was a floor box shown on the updated floor plan not captured during the time that the floor boxes were being priced out. This is to ensure all requested floor boxes are accounted for.
