Summary:

Mountain View Los Altos High School District is requesting Change Order #1C with MK Pipelines be ratified:
- 500 Wing Replacement: Provide and install Fire Department Connections (FDC), Check Valve and Post Indicator Valve (PIV) as needed for the 500 Wing. The original design intent was to use the existing PIV & FDC and tie into the fire line extension that was installed during construction of the new classroom building (600 wing). But it was recently determined that this would not be sufficient for the new 500 Wing as described in Request For Information #1.
- Facility Repairs Inc 1: The contract drawings direct the contractor to replace waterlines and match the existing pipe size to conform to existing conditions, but for bidding purposes to assume waterlines are 3”. It was determined that the existing line between the 400 & 500 East Wings was 6” and will need to be replaced with a 6” pipe, therefore, there are added costs for the larger materials and additional labor to install heavier pipe and bolted attachments as opposed to gluing 3” pipe which is a much quicker
assembly. Provide all labor, equipment, and material to install the new 6” water line.
- 500 Wing Replacement: Provide labor, equipment, and material as needed to relocate the fire riser at the new 500 Wing due to conflicts with unforeseen pipes coming from the pool pump room. Scope of work includes re-excavating previously installed pipe, rerouting pipe, retesting, and backfill.
