Summary:
|
Education Code requires that the District and our bargaining units sunshine topics that will be discussed in negotiations this year. The purpose of this sunshining is to allow public comment on these topics. Our current negotiated agreements expired on June 30, 2019, so the full contract is open. The agreement with the District specifies that articles may be reopened during this time. The agreement with the District Teachers' Association specifies Article 4 (Compensation) and additional articles to be discussed based on prior agreements are automatically open for negotiation. The specific issues, interests and possible options identified for this year are attached and have been made available as noted below to interested parties.
These materials are made available to individuals or organizations who have traditionally shown an interest in negotiations and any other parties who request to review the materials. A public hearing was conducted during the November 4, 2019, Board of Trustees meeting.
Staff is is returning this topic for an additional public hearing prior to acceptance of the Contract Reopeners by the Board of Trustees.
