Summary:

Mountain View Los Altos High School District is requesting Change Order #14A with Beals Martin be ratified:
- During furniture selection 42 glass whiteboards and tackboards were added in the offices. In order to support the boards, we will have to install backing. Contractor shall supply and install 576 linear feet of backing. This work was not included in the drawings at bid time.
- Per District request, staff work room layout was modified to accommodate a sink, copy machine, etc. Due to this change the tack wall was removed and replaced with a back splash. Provide credit for deleted work per Request For Proposal number 6. (Cost to add back splash is not included in this Potential Change Order).
- The details on the approved plans call for sure-board (material that provides resistance to seismic activity), to be installed at various (lift doors) locations. However, upon further review the sure-board is needed along the entire wall/ceiling (clerestory wall) system, increasing the square footage of sure-board needed. Provide and install additional sure-board per Request For Information #421.
- Due to steel supply issues, the overall project schedule has been extended, and Elevator installation date is pushed out to 2023. This Cost is unforeseen and due to labor escalation (starting work in 2023 in lieu of 2022).
- Originally 7 key stations at the overhead coiling (roll up) doors were to be surface mounted, and after further review, it was determined to make them flush mounted, which aesthetically is much more pleasing. The cost associated with this change is the delta between surface mount vs flush type stations. |
