Mountain View Los Altos High School District is requesting Change Order #15A with Beals Martin be ratified:
- Provide labor and materials to modify flashing at the Freestyle building curbs for walls that have cement panels and stucco. The plan details for the flashings at the curbs are shown very tight up to the bottom of the wall systems which do not allow for proper water flow along the wall plane and has potential for water to back up at curb flashings which is a water intrusion issue that can affect warranty. During a site walk the contractor presented mockups of the flashing as shown on the plans vs a modified flashing with additional bends and material which allows for a better system that will allow water to flow out of the exterior wall system and prevent water backup. The design team decided that the modified flashing at the Freestyle building curbs is a better system.
- Provide labor and materials to change the orientation in which (2) exterior and (1) interior door swings for film room and conference room buildings at Freestyle. The reason being is that currently, the canopy columns conflict with the exterior doors and do not allow for the doors to swing open the full 90 degrees required which limits accessibility and causes the doors and columns to be damaged over time due to impact.
- Provide labor and materials to add control joints in the stucco underneath the soffits at all buildings on the Freestyle project. The reflected ceiling plan did not show the control joints for the underside of the soffits. This was brought to the design teams’ attention and the design team provided a reflected ceiling plan showing the parameters for added control joints. This is the cost for the additional control joints. |
