Mountain View Los Altos High School District is requesting Change Order #9B with Robert A. Bothman Construction be ratified:
- During the subgrade preparation of the stage wall footings, Bothman called for an inspection of subgrade conditions. The geotechnical engineer tested the subgrade and determined that it was unsuitable and would not pass compaction. Bothman was directed by the geotechnical engineer to sub excavate additional 18+” or until firm soil, provide stabilization fabric and backfill with base rock in order to provide suitable subgrade conditions.
- During the subgrade preparation of the area between Building A and the District office, Bothman called for an inspection of subgrade conditions. The geotechnical engineer tested the subgrade and determined that it was unsuitable and would not pass inspection. Bothman was directed by the geotechnical engineer to remove unsuitable soil and base rock, sub excavate until hitting firm soil, and to import new base rock in order to pass compaction. |
