Staff recommends increasing the Mountain View High School Auxiliary Gym project budget from $11.6 million to $12.05 million.
The budget increase is needed because the current project contingency has been utilized. Considering the unprecedented material cost escalation the district has been experiencing (double digit annual escalation across multiple materials), along with air monitoring costs required by Bay Area Air Quality Management District, all of the existing contingency has been allocated. The budget increase would go toward covering the remaining added costs/unforeseen expenses through the end of the project. Any unused contingency funds at the end of this project would go back to the overall Measure E Bond program budget. |
