Summary:

The California Department of Education requires that the local governing board approve the district’s application for funding of Categorical Aid Programs (Con App I). The Consolidated Application Part I allows a district to apply for funding in multiple programs through one single application. Preliminary budgets are being developed for federally and state funded programs as this information becomes available from the CDE. Final allocations of actual entitlements typically arrive within 90 days of the passing of the state budget. Board Approval of the Consolidated Application, Part I gives the district the authority to submit the Consolidated Application, Part I to the State Department of Education. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the due date for submission was moved to August 17, 2020. The district received the following entitlements from the above-mentioned categorical aid programs in the 2019-20 school year: Consolidated Application Part I Title I $252,084 Title II, Part A* $62,993 Title III (English Learners)* $32,688 TOTAL ENTITLEMENTS $347,765 Note: Funds from federally funded programs must be shared with eligible private schools. The following local private schools have elected to participate in the Federal programs marked with * St. Francis High School allocations for 2019-20 were as follows: Title II Part A, Saint Francis $17,221 Title II Part A, Mountain View Academy $882 Title III (English Learners), Mountain View Academy $0 Total Funds to Private Schools 2019-20 $18,103 For the 2020 school year, the district is once again applying to receive Federal funds under Title I, Title II and Title III. We anticipate receiving roughly the same entitlements for the 2020-21 school year. |
